HP is Too Low at Low Levels

There, I said it, I concede, you were right. At level 0, all characters (except Dwarves) still only have 1 HP, so if you’d like to play a funnel you totally still can.

However, at level 1 ALL CLASSES GAIN +1 HP and SOME CLASSES (Fighter, Paladin, Dwarf) gain an ADDITIONAL +1 HP. That means the average hero has 2, and the front-line classes has 3. That way fights can get more intense right off the bat.

This has tremendously improved my home game, I highly recommend you make the change yourself.

Update on Priestly Prayers

As I said in the previous dev log, I do not find as much joy as others do making long lists of spells. Nonetheless, there has been progress on the next supplement Priestly Prayers, check it out:

I do not know when it will be done, but I imagine it’ll be done before the end of the month. I had to take a break from game development to focus on work and deal with a family crisis. Now I’m back.

The Final Stage of Aketon

Considering this was always meant to be a little side project, I still think it’s pretty crazy that Aketon is now one of my most successful releases. Here’s what I imagine the final project will look like:

— Option 1 —

A spiral-bound, hardback, 8.5” x 11” rule book with both pages of the game side-by-side

Pros: Easy to format, all the info is right there in a single spread

Cons: Not very pretty, might be too much info on the page

— Option 2 —

A 6” x 9” spiral-bound, hardback rule book with two columns per page (that’s 6 pages per supplement) with room for notes and annotations on the side

Pros: Easy to format, very pretty and designer-friendly

Cons: You may have to dig through pages to find what you need
