Crowns 2e on Backerkit!

Crowns 2e is coming to Backerkit, launching on this upcoming Monday, May 12th!!! It’s going to be a lot smaller than the Kickstarter attempt, with fewer stretch goals and a more straight forward layout.

The goal is only going to $500, because that would be nice to have. I’ve financed all the art in the book so far completely out of pocket because the Kickstarter failed, so any amount of money in return would be nice (and the sales have been extremely helpful).

A summary of the pledge levels are:

• $10 PDF
• $20 Print on Demand (no PDF)
• $25 Print on Demand + PDF
• $40 Backerkit Exclusive Offset-Printing + PDF (I’m only printing as many as are ordered)

The Backerkit Exclusive Print version will be a hardback with two ribbons, high paper quality, soft-touch lamination cover, saddle-stitched, the whole nine-yards.

The Spells are Complete

All 20 spells are in the game with their ritual components, anima, and obscura. All of them are included in the free Quickstart as well. The final four can be seen down below:

STAGGER!!!

Thanks to Noize7 in the Discord (who has been given an editing credit in the book for all the hard work he’s done over the last months-to-year) the Delay stunt has been replaced by the Stagger stunt. Delay was boring, he brought this to my attention, and it was something you had to track that didn’t directly effect getting hit/hitting, which means it’s third-wheeling the GM’s brain.

STAGGER is a stunt that means you’re target cannot parry or dodge the next attack that hits them. That’s brutal! AND, great weapons ALWAYS cause it if they hit. In return, great weapons have lost their +1 damage because, to be frank, that was a big boost.

The Abbey Lost to the Trees

The Crowns 2e starter adventure The Abbey Lost to the Trees just had a full release, is free, and is now compatible with Crowns 2e, Aketon, and OSE. I’m considering also making a Shadowdark and Cairn 2e compatible version, but we’ll see! You can check that out down below (it is no longer included with the Quickstart kit directly).

Where have I been?

Recently, I had a major family crisis combined with a financial gut punch. It took me out of commission for a bit while I worked and focused on my home life. I’m back! I probably won’t be posting two blog posts a week, or two game updates a week, but hey, I’m back nonetheless!

Crowns 2e is going on a 33% off sale while the Backerkit campaign is live. If the campaign succeeds, I’m going to permanently reduce the price of the Crowns 2e PDF to $10 in celebration (plus I won’t need the extra $5 to make my money back if the Backerkit succeeds).
